I’m Gemma - a Sydney-based newborn and family photographer with over twenty years of professional experience. I specialise in natural, in-home newborn photography that feels calm, unhurried, and deeply connected.
Those early weeks are tender and fleeting. My approach is simple - beautiful light, gentle guidance, and space for your baby to lead the rhythm of the session.
Newborn sessions take place in your home, where everyone feels most at ease. There’s no packing bags, no rushing out the door, and no pressure to perform. I come to you and work gently within your space, using natural light and neutral tones to create timeless images.
My sessions are baby-led and flexible. Feeding breaks, cuddles, and settling time.
Siblings can move in and out naturally, and even pets are part of the story.

Newborn sessions are best held within the first 1–3 weeks after birth.
I pencil in your due date and then confirm your session once your baby arrives. This flexible booking system ensures your session happens at the right time for your family.

That’s completely normal.
Newborn sessions are calm, relaxed, and unhurried. We pause for feeds, nappy changes, and cuddles whenever needed.
There’s no expectation for your baby to sleep or “perform” in any particular way. I’ll gently follow your baby’s cues, adapt as we go, and create beautiful images whether your baby is wide awake, sleepy, or somewhere in between.
Some of the most meaningful photographs come from those in-between moments.

Not at all.
I’ll gently guide you to the best light and the simplest areas of your home. You don’t need a show home - your bedroom or lounge room is perfect.
Some of my favourite sessions have taken place in just one room. It’s amazing what we can create with soft window light and a plain wall.
